Introduction and Context
A Domain is an unique identification string that defines your website.
The tribefii Domain Manager allows you to register and manage custom business domains.
Application and Implementation
Use custom business domains to create a position and impression to your site visitors. It also makes your Microsites or Engagement Hubs easier to remember and access, which increases engagement with your tribe.
Here's how it works:
- Registering and Using a New Custom Domain in tribefii
- Search for the domain that you want in the Domain Manager
- If the domain is available, register and pay for the domain which is charged on an annual basis.
- Your domain will be available to be selected when you create your Microsite - Select the domain and add a hostname (eg. hostname.YourDomain.com)
- Complete the process to the last step
- This will be the Microsite Address or URL for your Microsite.
- Using your own existing custom domain:
- Select "Edit" on the Microsite that you would like to assign the custom domain
- Go to the Website URL tab
- Create a CNAME record with the hostname that you want to use and point it to "app.tribefii.com"
- Enter the entire URL (hostname.domain.com) into the domain input and click "Add".
- The custom domain will be added if the verification check passes (from steps 3 and 4). The DNS might take up to 24 hours to reflect the changes.
- Complete the process to the last step
- This will be the Microsite Address or URL for your Microsite.
